Day 1: Arrival & A Taste of Hitoyoshi

  • Arrival & Transport: Private vehicle pickup from Kagoshima Airport or Shin-Yatsushiro Station for a seamless journey into the Kuma Valley.
  • Afternoon: Brief introductory shochu walking tour to sample the valley’s signature spirit.
  • Accommodation: Ryokan Ayunosato, your riverside base for three nights with natural hot springs and refined hospitality.
  • Evening: Shochu-paired multi-course dinner at Ayunosato.
  • Optional: Tranquil night walk to Aoiaso Shrine (National Treasure).

Day 2: Exploration & Culinary Immersion

  • Morning: Full-day e-bike tour through the Sagara region with a stop at tea fields for producer meet-and-taste of exclusive Sagara tea.
  • Lunch: Healthy artisan tofu lunch at Ganko Dofu, made with pristine spring water.
  • Evening: Hands-on cooking class and dinner with Chef Secchan at her farmstay Ryukinka.

Day 3: Zen, Samurai & Fine Dining

  • Morning: Zazen meditation at a local temple, followed by a private Taisharyu swordsmanship demonstration.
