②Yunomae is a quiet, peaceful town where shrines and temples unobtrusively stand and the local line runs through countryside where the Kuma River lazily flows.
③Village of history and romance…Taragi. This town has unearthed Paleolithic relics from over 10,000 years ago as well as relics from the Jōmon and Yayoi periods.
Central Area
④Itsuki, a village of lullabies played by nature. A hometown where you can enjoy the mountains, which are blessed with nature, and where you can play with nature at Kawabe River, which boasts 11 years with the highest water quality in Japan.
⑤A village with high compatibility… It’s an agricultural and mountain village blessed with an abundance of nature, where the old history and traditions live on.
⑥There are many shrines and temples in Asagiri Town. Among those, five shrines hold a stately festival in autumn, praying for things such as a huge harvest and peace and prosperity at home.
⑦Village of master fencers and fruit…Nishiki.
West Area
⑧An area famous for the production of chestnuts which were even presented to His Majesty the Emperor. In spring, you’ll be greeted with rhododendrons, the town flower; in summer, the clear-flowing Mae River will greet you.
⑨A village along the Kuma River, famous for successful prayers in passing exams, the largest limestone cave in Kyushu, and gourmet food which makes use of local ingredients from the Kuma River.
⑩Located in the Hitoyoshi Basin of the Kyushu Mountains and famous for hot springs and river adventures. The center of the Hitoyoshi Kuma region. It’s a hot springs castle town that flourished as a castle town of the Hitoyoshi Domain Sagara Clan.
